RELATED: Star Wars Outlaws Follows In The Footsteps Of The Most Famous Cancelled Star Wars Game While its sequel, Jedi: Survivor, improves upon the original by delivering a more expansive world that provides players with an incentive to explore, it can still only be defined as a semi-open world game, being that it prioritizes its story and thus guides players along a specific route. The universe that Respawn built for it is undoubtedly beautiful, but its restrictive design leaves players with no choice but to stare out longingly at sprawling landscapes that they will never set foot on. Are you the type of player to skip over side content and just focus on the main story? Or are you the kind that likes to get your money’s worth out of a game you purchased? All of that isn’t even getting into replays it and the inclusion of new game plus, which adds some fun new twists and turns to refresh the experience for a second or third go around. The hugely popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is primarily a narrative-driven experience, with most of its exploration being confined to a linear path. Really, it comes down to each individual player and their play style. Asmussen hasn’t confirmed how much the additional content would add to overall playtime, but it’s safe to assume that anyone seeking 100% completion will be spending substantially longer exploring the galaxy far, far away. If you’re happy to forego most of the side content, the game can easily be completed in around 20 hours. There is also a substantial side mission in which Cal has to track down various bounty hunters scattered across the galaxy that has the potential to eat up a bunch of hours. These are optional puzzle rooms that offer more world-building, as well as some perks and collectibles that can affect Cal’s abilities. Other additions, such as puzzle-focused Jedi Meditation Chambers, may bulk the experience out a bit as well.
